After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Accounting in 1978, Chris began his professional career with The Procter & Gamble Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio primarily in the area of Credit and Accounting.  He spent several years learning that side of their business through assignments of increasing responsibility and later moved into Sales and Marketing.  He spent 5 years in Nashville, Atlanta and Milwaukee becoming a top sales producer and Sales Manager.  Because of a keen interest in construction and development, Chris decided to make a career change and joined STM Development Company in 1988 and moved back to Nashville as a Project Manager.  There, he was responsible for all aspects of three major residential developments including Construction, Planning, Sales and Marketing and Property Management.  In 1993, he teamed with Leon Moore to continue development of a residential community in Hendersonville and explore other development opportunities.  That led to Chris starting a homebuilding company in the mid 90’s focusing on custom homes in the $500,000 to $1,000,000 range.

In early 2002, Chris and Leon started Indian Ridge, a 128 lot development in Hendersonville.  Calling on the relationships he had built with local custom builders over the years, Chris was able to put an exclusive builder program together at Indian Ridge resulting in that project becoming very successful.  In mid 2002, they had the fortunate opportunity to get involved with Fairvue Plantation in Gallatin.  Chris once again called on his relationships with the best local custom builders and put together another exclusive builder program incorporating centralized sales.  By utilizing the  talents of the best local custom builders, developing an effective on-site sales organization, promoting the community through local real estate professionals and establishing a creative advertising and marketing campaign, Fairvue Plantation enjoyed unparalleled success.

After enjoying much success in real estate development, Chris joined with David Beard in 2011 to form Tri-State Roofing Contractors, LLC in Chattanooga.  With a primary goal of providing superior customer service, Tri-State quickly grew to almost 60 employees and $10mm in sales. In August 2019, Chris and David decided to sell their interest in Tri-State to focus on opportunities closer to home in the Nashville area.

Chris has been married to his wife Ellen for 41 years.  They have two sons, Danny and Andy.  Danny attended Auburn University where he played basketball, completing his degree in Architecture in 2008. In 2019, he started his own practice, Prospect Studio,in Jackson, WY.  Andy attended Belmont University where he played basketball, graduating in 2009.  He attended dental school at the University of Louisville and later completed his Residency at Vanderbilt University in their Oral Surgery program.  He is currently an Oral Surgeon with OMS Nashville.
